JOHNSON MOORE receives record-setting Financial Elder Abuse Verdict in Ventura...

JOHNSON MOORE received a verdict of over $4 million dollars (including $3 million dollars in punitive damages) in a financial elder abuse case against a Westlake Village financial advisor who targeted elderly widows in the area. He pled guilty in his criminal case involving our client and escaped jail by promising to pay the money back by making monthly payments. He didn’t. He’s now back in custody awaiting trial for another victim.

Although we may never collect on this Judgment, we took this case to trial because we wanted the public to know that this is a real problem, and that these predators exist. We asked for a large punitive award that would serve to deter others who might consider victimizing elderly people, a crime motivated by greed. We are proud that we accomplished that goal.

Stephanie Johnson, our associate, examined the most witnesses at this trial (her first), and both Jody Moore and Gregory Johnson acted as lead counsel at various points in the trial.

JOHNSON MOORE is known throughout California for our success in Elder Abuse litigation and catastrophic personal injury matters.
